
AI4Science is a College of Sciences-wide center for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) in the sciences that fosters collaborations among faculty members across the college to drive innovation at the intersection of AI/ML and traditional scientific disciplines. The center hosts biweekly seminars featuring speakers at the forefront of AI and scientific research. These talks highlight emerging methods, cross-disciplinary applications, and foundational advances in machine learning for the natural sciences.
The first AI4Science seminar will take place on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, from 2 to 3 p.m. in the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Seminar Room of EBB Krone.
Pierre Gentine of Columbia University will give a talk entitled “Lost in latent land: prediction, understanding, and data assimilation through latent spaces for weather and climate”.
